Paulus Hennekin - Portrait of a dutch lady ca 1640s
Magnificent Dutch 17th century old master portrait of a lady.
This stunning portrait features a wonderfully accurate and delicate rendering of lace. The artist of this work must have invested a lot of time in creating this true treasure of a painting.
A similar portrait of a lady, also attributed to Hennekin, was exhibited at the TEFAF art fair in 2002 (it's registered in the Rkd under number 48497). The quality of this painting is truly outstanding.
The attribution to Hennekin was proposed by Dr. Fred Meijer after examining the portrait in person.
The painting is in a beautiful condition and was recently cleaned (as you can see on the last photograph).
